FINDING A WAY TO GIVE BACK TO VETERANS FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR NATION
What is our "Veterans Day Challenge"?
To celebrate Veterans Day by finding a way to give back to veterans for their service to our nation.
WHY I BELIEVE THIS IS IMPORTANT
----I grew up during the Vietnam War era and remember how poorly our returning veterans were treated.
----Since then I have met many whose lives were profoundly affected by their or their loved ones service to our nation.
----As an American history teacher, I am certain that our nation could not have survived without that small portion of our population who willingly risked all in the service of our nation.
----The purpose of Veterans Day is to acknowledge and demonstrate gratitude for our veterans' service to our nation. A perfect way to acknowledge and demonstrate our gratitude is to find a way to give back to those who have given us so much.
“Veterans Day Challenge” is an attempt to get Americans, one community at a time, to thank our veterans and to find ways to give something back to those men and women who have sacrificed so much for our nation.
